Time for Fleur to Go Home…

Sometimes penguins just don’t know what’s good for them. And what’s good for Fleur right now is to leave the hospital and return to her home under the canopy of the reserve. After a weigh-in and a dose of anti-parasite medicine, this bird was carried there and let go. Perhaps she was thinking that fresh salmon delivered to her pen twice a day was a lot easier than swimming around the ocean looking for something to eat…

And yes, it is comical the way the penguin is running away from Rosalie, like a child would run from its Mum, but anthropomorphism is not always a bad thing. It begets empathy, which is the first step toward understanding.
